Summary

This is a family photo of the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of Brunswick businessman and trial magistrate Howard Marvin Jones, and his wife Mabel, at their home in Petersville in 1947. The couple's Colonial Revival Style home, constructed in an American Foursquare plan between 1914 and 1920, stands majestically behind them.

All those gathered in the photo were the first and second generations of the Jones' marriage. Their daughter Marjorie Jones Smith was standing behind the children on the left side, as noted on her skirt. Her two boys in front of her are noted as Ron and Dick. Marge’s husband Harry O. Smith is standing over her left shoulder. Mr. Smith was a distinguished teacher and principal at Brunswick High School, where he coached BHS to a state soccer championship in 1933. He later served as principal of Walkersville High where the Smiths lived until his passing.
