Mayor Jess David Orndorff (1912 - 1997). He served as mayor from 1966 to 1984 and was named a Distinguished Citizen of Brunswick in 1980.
A 1931 graduate of BHS, Jess Orndorff began work in 1937 as a security guard at Washington Terminal, a career which lasted 38 years. In 1960, he was elected to the Brunswick Town Council, and became Mayor pro tem in 1962. Following the death of Mayor James Cummings in 1966, Orndorff was elected Mayor of Brunswick, a position he held for 18 years.
