Summary

This photo is from the 1987 BHS Yearbook and shows the members of the Photography Club. I'm not sure if the Photography Club was also the group responsible for taking photos for the Yearbook but since Pearl Roberts was at BHS at the time and she did the Yearbook, I'm assuming that she also was in charge of the Photography Club. Back in 1987 digital photography was not yet available so all pictures taken by the club had to be on film which meant just clicking away trying to get the "perfect" shot required going through a lot of film. Also it was impossible to see how the shot just taken had turned out, so it was possible to believe that the photo was perfectly framed and the lighting just right only to discover later that wasn't necessary true. Later with digital cameras it became possible to take a lot of pictures knowing that among the many taken there was mostly likely that perfect one. Also since many digital cameras were capable of taking videos it became possible to move between still shots and videos without having to change equipment. Now even digital cameras are being replaced by people using their smart phones, and as time goes on, the quality of these cameras keeps increasing every year. I've always heard the term "information age" but I never imagined how much of it would be visual (and audio) information transmitted between people. May be "Big Brother" is watching us, but we are definitely watching each other at an ever increasing rate and that may be even more significant in the long run :=/!
