Consistent with its credo – “Service Above Self” – the Rotary Club of Smoketown, Brunswick, Maryland is, for the third consecutive year, presenting dictionaries to third grade students and their teachers in Brunswick Elementary School. The club’s annual DICTIONARY PROJECT operates under the slogan “To Learn To Read and To Read To Learn”. The Dictionary Project began in Savannah, Georgia in 1995 with a distribution of 17,000 dictionaries. Today the Dictionary Project has a presence in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and more than 15 countries around the world, with a distribution of more than 24 million books.
