SMOKETOWN ROTARY CLUB SUPPORTS TRAX

The Smoketown Rotary Club of Brunswick this month made a financial grant to the City of Brunswick to fund training for TRAX, the Department’s narcotics dog. The black lab was acquired by the police department in 2016 to assist the department with drug cases. The canine’s name is a nod to the railroad tracks, which have historic significance in this city, renowned for its B&O railyard.

The Rotary Club’s financial grant will enable the Police Department to have TRAX trained for search and rescue tasks, in addition to his narcotics assignment, according to Officer Brandon Smith, who is TRAX’ handler.
