Summary

The 1986 BHS Yearbook was dedicated to Anne and Lee Zumbach, two teachers I had the pleasure ofwhile at Brunswick. Although both of them were classroom teachers I think their greatest contributions came through their dedication to students as athletic coaches and to Brunswick as community organizers. When talking about track or cross-country at BHS it is impossible not to mention their names or acknowledge the significance of their impact on the student athletes who passed through these programs. They used these sports as a way to develop students not only into better athletes but also better human beings. They also served as personal mentors to many students demonstrating that sportsmen-like conduct was more important than winning. Anne is still teaching / coaching at BHS. Lee is retired he has remained actively involved in coaching at BHS and various activities benefiting the Brunswick community. Both Anne and Lee help to Brunswick High School and the surrounding community a better place for everyone. Although somewhere down the line they will step down and be replaced in their roles, I truly believe that they themselves will be irreplaceable. ;=)!
