Brunswick People

Dapper longtime Brunswick businessman A.J. "Tony" Cincotta (1906-1989) started his career as a singer following a chance discovery by a big band trumpet player, who invited him to sing with the orchestra at a university dance. Tony continued singing with the band as they played elegant ballrooms in New York and Chicago and later hosted his own radio show at WJSV in Virginia.

Upon the untimely death of his 1st wife and father, Tony returned to Brunswick to raise their 2 young children and run his father Sam's thriving wholesale produce business. He was active in community affairs and later became Brunswick's 1st real estate broker in the 1950s, operating in the old Harmon building on W. Potomac Street. His 2nd wife Jeanette still lives in the Cincotta building across the street above the final location of Roelke's Market. (Clipping from the Brunswick Citizen)
