Scott W Stauffer: This tree is a cut tree supplied typically by the Brunswick Rotary club up until the mid 60s when they began using the planted tree that is there now which was donated by Mrs. Alta Nuse. I remember going with my dad and the other men of the Rotary club to cut the tree, I was fairly small so my job was to climb to the top and fasten the rope before the tree was cut, one time Pat Lakin started the chainsaw and began cutting while I was still up top

Smoketown History (Brunswick, Md.) I remember caroling around the town tree as part of the Brownie troop. Also getting excited to see what it looked like when they finally lit it. As a child it was the biggest Christmas tree I had ever seen....Nancy
