Summary
Here's another group photo from the W. G Street side of Wenner's store in the late 1930s that was probably taken the same day as what we posted yesterday. John Hammond is standing on the left in his Brunswick uniform and glove. Skimmy Hahn sitting on the far right.
George Heffner Jr. (Junior) front row between the 2 ladies
This was an early Wenner's Hill gang.
Keith Carter Wenners hill was a very popular area for us kids back in the 60’s. We ALWAYS had at least 25 or more kids from C street all the way back to H street on weekend nights playing “Hunt the Hair” or “Kick the Can” up until or beyond 10pm. We even had our own “Go Cart Races” on that hill starting on F street down toD street. Wenner’s hill was our world growing up with Stuffey’s Market back between G and H street as our go to place for candy, ice cream, and soda. What GREAT memories!!
Doris Kelley Barker Keith Carter Loved everything you said and that was the way it was on N.Delaware Avenue and our parents sitting on the porches to make sure we were safe. We had no fears then.
