Summary
This 1862 view of Berlin after the original wooden Potomac River Bridge was burned by the Confederate army during the Civil War shows the William Waltman Wenner farmland and barn (through the trees) on the western side of town.
What is now incorporated within the Brunswick city limits was originally a collection of farms in the Petersville Election district with most of Berlin situated between the railroad tracks and C&O Canal.
