LEWIS SHERIDAN HARMAN, one of Brunswick's best known residents, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jared Brown, Brunswick, Monday afternoon about one o'clock after a long illness, aged 62 years, 6 months, and 26 days.

The funeral service took place from the home; interment was in Park Heights Cemetery.

Mr. Harman, who was numbered among Brunswick's oldest citizens moved there many years ago from Pennsylvania, after learning the trade of cigar maker in the factories around Abbotstown. He opened a cigar factory in the Hudson building, Brunswick, along the railroad which thoroughfare in those days was on the "main street" of the town. Some years later he purchased his late home on W. Potomac St., where he resided until a few weeks ago when he sold this property. About 1908 he erected the large business and apartment building on a part of his original home tract, in which are now located the establishments of Mrs. L.G. Harbaugh the the Maryland Restaurant.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Leah Harman, he leaves two daughters; Mrs. A. B. Hedges, and Mrs. Jared Brown, of Brunswick; one brother, Charles Harman, Portsmouth, Ohio, and a sister, Mrs. Catherine Brady, Hanover, Pa.

The deceased was fraternally identified with six organizations; the Masonic fraternity, the Hanover, Pa., Lodge of Red Men, the I.O.O.F., Jr. O.U.A.M. Knights of Pythias and the K.K.K., one member from each having been selected to act as pallbearers.
