Summary
This photo is of a controlled burn of the Shafer Farm on Petersville Road that was operated at the time by Bub Eury. The farmhouse and barn were razed to make way for the Route 17 artery that connected Souder Road to the Burkittsville Road in the Summer of 1964.
It was taken by Lila Wenner in front of the family home across the road.
