Jeana Fawley Harmon: We all watched it burn. My aunt Yonnie who was a waitress there most of her life cried for two days. It was a very traumatic night for many people.

Gary Free: when the YMCA burned, the whole town was there, it smolded for ever before the flames broke out, the fire dept. stayed there all night, the vets. day parade was in the morning it was still smoking when the parade came by.
